Is it safe to combine CBD oil with other medications?

Nobles oil and CBD creams are becoming more and more popular as people discover their amazing health benefits. They can be used to manage pain, anxiety, help with sleep problems, regulate moods, relieve inflammation and many other medical conditions. There is a lot of information out there about CBD oils that may confuse you on the best way to use them for your specific needs.

You may have heard that there are certain drugs that cannot be used when using CBD oil for pain relief or in general because they interact with each other. The reality is more complicated than this statement might suggest – it all depends on what type of medication you are talking about, what dosage level of both medications we’re discussing as well as individual factors like age and weight.

Drugs metabolized by CYP450 enzymes (mostly) : These include ciclosporin (Neoral), tacrolimus (Prograf), olanzapine/fluoxetine (Symbyax), and lovastatin/simvastatin

Opiates, barbiturates, benzodiazepines: It is not recommended to use CBD oil alongside these drugs because it can reduce the desired effects of them. In some cases, this interaction could be dangerous as well.

Benzodiazepines: It is not recommended to use CBD oil alongside these drugs because it can reduce the desired effects of them and in some cases this interaction could be dangerous as well.

Atypical antipsychotics: Some atypical antipsychotic medications are incompatible with CBD oils for various reasons including reducing drug effectiveness or triggering side effects.

It is advised that before you start taking any medication, you speak with a pharmacist about whether they will interact negatively with your CBD oil supplements or not work as intended without adding further complications to your health situation. This step would also need to include other over-the-counter medicines such as vitamins, minerals, herbal remedies etc which may trigger interactions if taken together too.
